The Importance of history

History is very important because it’s only right that we know what happened in the past.   Everyone should know something about what happened in the past, like how we are free people today, how blacks and whites can now go to school with each other and get along using the same materials.  The three things I think are important is to know what we went through to get where we are today, So we want repeat the history, and so it empowers us.
It’s important that we know our history so that we do not repeat the past and make mistakes that were made back then.  Examples like treating others how they wouldn’t want to be treated.  Also so we remember where we came from.  If we don’t value the past and where we came from everyone will start being like they were a long time ago and not realizing we’re greater than that.
History empowers us.  It’s important that we know what our people have been through to now be confident people and stronger people then those back then.  If we continue being strong we can overcome anything that comes our way.  History allows us to make logical judgment on what ways of doing things work and don’t work. History also gives us reasons as to why we do things the way we now do them. Also “You cannot get to where you are going without knowing where you have already been”

History is very important in today’s world so that we know the things we have overcome.  The more you know about where you came from the more comfortable you are with life, being grateful for what we have.  History plays a big role in my life because I tend to complain about stuff that never existed back then instead of being grateful for what I already have.  I think I’m this way because I’m  the only child so I’m used to getting what I want so when I don’t I get upset until I remind myself there were people back then that didn’t have half the stuff I had.
