The theme for Cat In The Hat is responsibility and being in charge. Also It shows fun things aren't always right. Trust is another theme of the story, Its not always good to trust strangers. Cat In the Hat teaches children to be aware that not all good things can go as good as it did for Sally and Sam lying to their parents. Ask Yourself would you trust a stranger into your home while your parents weren't there? Would you allow a stranger to perform dangerous but fun activities while your parents aren't home.
